Curriculum vitae

L.K.J. Vandamme received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from H.T.I. Oostende,Belgium, in 1965, the M.Sc. degree (cum laude) from the Delft University of Technology in 1971, The Netherlands, and the doctorate degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology in 1976, The Netherlands. Since September 1965 he held full time positions at respectively the nuclear reactor institute in Delft, the department of electrical engineering and the department of mechanical engineering in Delft, the department of electrical engineering in Eindhoven (since 1972). He was invited visiting professor at the University of Montpellier, France, in 1981-1982, 1986-1987, and 1992. He has done research on 1/f noise in metals, semiconductors and insulators (optical fibres), electrical contacts, devices, especially MOS transistors, diodes, solar cells, and laser diodes. He has written and collaborated on more than 100 scientific journal and conference publications.

He gives lectures on semiconductor physics for electrical engineers at the Eindhoven University of Technology and on 1/f noise in materials and devices at the University of Montpellier, France.

He is the coordinator for student exchanges in the ERASMUS-SOCRATES programme for the department of Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven. He is member of international advisory committees of the international conference on noise in physical systems and 1/f fluctuations (ICNF) and the European symposium on reliability of electron devices, failure physics and analysis (ESREF).

He contributed in several European programmes such as: ESPRIT, ADEQUAT and Human Capital and Mobility (ELEN). He coordinated the Eindhoven noise contributions.
